The 2008 Durham Big Ride has just been launched and we are hoping
for a repeat of last year’s success. The first Durham Big Ride in 2007
saw over 700 people “getting on their bikes” and, not only seeing
the fabulous countryside on the course, but raising money for local causes
at the same time.
This year County Durham Foundation is taking part in the Durham Big Ride again
and we would greatly appreciate your support in helping us to raise money
so that we can continue to support good causes throughout the County. A team
of Foundation staff will be joining in the fun and helping you out along the
way. The event takes place on September 21st 2008, starting and finishing
at County Hall in Durham City.
How can I take part?
Over 80 of County Durham Foundation's supporters joined us at last years ride
and we hope to increase that number this year, raising even more money for

Variety Troupe who joined us on the ride last year and managed to raise
over £440 for County Durham Foundation!
There will be three routes to cater for people of all abilities 3, 10 and
25 miles. The ride costs £15 for adults, £5 for children and £30
for a family (2 adults and 2 children) to enter. However, if you can raise
£30 (£50 for families) or more in sponsorship, County Durham Foundation
will refund your entry fee.
To enter the ride and raise money for County Durham Foundation you just need
to complete an entry form and return it, along with your entry fee to Kate

Business Centre, Finchale Road, Durham, DH1 5HL.
