Registered charity County Durham Foundation
is the ideal vehicle for people who are looking to
put something back into the communities in which they
have lived and worked. Unlike other charities, we
have the flexibility to support a wide range of good
causes from children to the elderly, from the arts
to the environment. Uniquely, we look to match the
interests of our supporters with the needs of the
community, and to offer donors a say in how their
gift is used.
Our long-term endowment funds are perfect for legacies,
as they guarantee how the money will be used, support
is given each year in the name of the fund and we
manage all investment, accounting and legal requirements.
This is the easiest, most effective way to ensure
that your clients charitable bequests will support
future generations. # Francis Bell Case Study
Close
Thornton administered the will of Francis Bell, who
left a legacy to support Diabetic Research at Darlington
Memorial Hospital.
As the hospital was unable to manage the fund, Close
Thornton went in search of the charity that could
best support Francis’ wishes. They approached County
Durham Foundation and asked us to set up a fund in
Francis' name. The Francis James Bell Fund was set
up to help local people with diabetes, a condition
Francis cared about deeply.
This year your
client can make a huge differenceto someone's life
whilst completing their self-assessment tax return.
If you are due a tax rebate you can donate this amount
to County Durham Foundation. Don't forget, you can
claim 18% (the difference between the higher and lower
rate of tax paid) and donate this as well.
It's a great way to help us add to the list of 3,400
groups and 1,450 individuals we have helped
so far. It really can make a huge difference
to the lives of people in County Durham and Darlington.
All
you need to do is include our unique identifier number
on the tax return form. That all important number
is HAC70JG
