Registered charity County Durham
Foundation is the ideal vehicle for people who are looking to
put something back into the communities in which they have
lived and worked. Unlike other charities, we have the
flexibility to support a wide range of good causes from
children to the elderly, from the arts to the environment.
Uniquely, we look to match the interests of our supporters
with the needs of the community, and to offer donors a say in
how their gift is used.

Blackett Hart & Pratt were
contacted by a client 'Miss M' and asked to prepare a will.
Her intention was to leave a residual legacy to assist with
specialist medical training for the benefit of the greater
community. Blackett Hart & Pratt advised 'Miss M' that
County Durham Foundation would be the best organisation to
maximise her support to the next generation of medical
students. As Miss M’s father is a retired GP, she is committed
to helping those within the medical
community.

Community
Foundations praised in an article from The Times - "A helping
hand for the would-be philanthropists "
After Sir Tom Hunter’s £1billion
pledge to charity, an article about the new philanthropists
who are attempting to bridge the wealth gap recently appeared
in the Sunday Times praising Community Foundation's for their
ability to 'put local donors in touch with almost any kind of
project they might wish to support'.
