Individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds that show initiative and need help to achieve their own potential, or to excel in a particular skills or ability.
To support charities and good causes at the donors discretion, including the Tibetan Foundation. All grants will aim to alleviate disadvantage, provide increased access to existing or new activities and services, contribute towards regeneration initiatives, develop skills, experience or share knowledge at a community level, or open up opportunities for marginalised people.
Bursaries and learning experiences for students at the haematology department
of a local hospital.

People with disabilities, elderly people, young people (including education) and environmental projects.
Groups
and projects working in County Durham, especially Derwentside helping people
from disadvantaged backgrounds that show initiative and need help to achieve
their own potential, or to excel in a particular skill or ability.
Groups
and projects working with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, education,
disabilities, addressing poverty and the elderly.
Capital
items with a lasting benefit for groups in close proximity to a Banks Group
operation, especially those in Tow Law, Wolsingham, West Cornforth and Cramlington.
Capital items with lasting benefit for groups situated within close proximity to a current or proposed Banks Group operation. Projects must be within 10-miles from a landfill site and are funded in accordance with Entrust criteria.

Bursary scheme to support the development of skills and the capacity of key
voluntary
and community sector volunteers and/or activists.
Supporting the Get Ready for Delivery programme.
Helping local, grass roots activities and supporting women to gain confidence and achieve their potential.
Projects to be determined annually by Peter and Jayne.
Education, mentoring and career support as a vehicle to access employment or further education for 16-25 year olds who live in County Durham or Darlington, have left full time education with no (or basic) qualifications and with limited job prospects.

Young people who excel in a particular field or a person of any age who is achieving against the odds.
Supports
community and voluntary organisations from user-led, self-help projects that
can show real need and demonstrable benefits. Applications will be accepted
under the following six themes for core support, project and capital grants:

Fair
Share Ensures that a larger share of lottery funding is received in the “Fair Share” areas of Central and Northgate wards in Darlington.
Supports capacity building training for community groups in County Durham with a preference for Sedgefield.
Four
Seasons Health CareActivities and outings for elderly people near Four Seasons Care Homes in County Durham and Darlington.
Supporting diabetic research. Bursaries to support students or staff of any medical institution in Darlington, Durham or the wider North East who need financial assistance.
Provides book tokens and/or books for school prizes.
Guy
Readman/Tor CoatingsSupports young people up to the age of 21 (although exceptional candidates can be supported above this age) from disadvantaged backgrounds (i.e. ex-offenders or young carers) that show initiative and need help to achieve their own potential, or to excel in a particular skill or ability. It will also help young people who are undertaking volunteer work with Project Trust with a small donation.
Contributes to County Durham Foundation’s Community Action programme.
At the discretion of the current High Sheriff for community safety projects.
Individuals with cerebral palsy, their families and carers who live in County Durham, Darlington, Sunderland, South Tyneside and Cleveland.
Community projects and disadvantaged individuals in the Derwentside area.
Young people and groups that work with young people with physical and learning disabilities with the aim of providing increased access to existing and new activities and services; develop skills experience and open up opportunities or share knowledge.

Bursaries to enable students at the College of St Hild & St Bede in Durham City to further their studies or undertake activities in relation to their study.
Elderly, ill or disabled individuals and their carers in the Tees Valley area who are in need of respite care, or who need temporary support following hospitalisation, a bereavement or because of dependency treatment.
Young people projects aged between 18 and 25.
Methodist causes undertaking community projects plus projects working with people in greater need including unpopular causes.
Groups in the communities and surrounding areas of Frank Haslam Milan North East and Haslam Homes North East Operations who are facing disadvantage and hardship.
Patients of the Burnhope Surgery plus the well being and health of the people of Burnhope and its surrounding area.
Supports local hospitals.
Supports rural initiatives in and around Darlington, especially projects aimed at combating economic decline or focusing on agriculture and community farming.

Water Green Scheme Small-scale community environmental improvement projects.
Maintenance of the Oakenshaw Reserve.
Aspirational experiences and opportunities for disadvantaged children and young people in County Durham and Darlington.
Community projects, access to work and training for individuals within a 10-mile radius of the Roman factory including Spennymoor, Ferryhill and Darlington.
Enterprise, education, access to work and skills training including mentoring and coaching for all ages. Small capital and revenue grants to help people set up businesses, become self-employed or start social-enterprises or other charitable activiities.
Voluntary and community groups in rural areas supporting disadvantaged people such as the elderly, young people and those suffering from illness or disability.
Contributes to the Hylton House Fund.

Young children and their families, living within the Consett area, who have learning disabilities, autism or a terminal illness.

Sport
ReliefUsing sport to tackle the exclusion and isolation experienced by some of the poorest and most disadvantaged communities. This fund aims to support projects which use sport and exercise to strengthen communities and provide opportunities for people who are excluded or disadvantaged through low income, rural or social isolation, age, disability, race, sexuality or gender. Education and Training grants for young people (under 25) who are, or who have been, in the care of or looked after by the local authority, or under a Supervision Order to the local authority, for a minimum of six months.

Children
and young people's groups in Sedgefield and surrounding areas.

To support young people who need assistance in furtherance of a career in the arts, primarily music and in particular young people with a skill or talent who are unable to participate at the appropriate level due to their personal circumstances. Will also consider requests from groups or projects working in a related field. All grants aim to provide increased access to existing or new activities and services, develop skills experience and open up opportunities or share knowledge.
Supports projects in the West Park area of Darlington.
Supports projects which help disadvantaged and disabled young people between the ages of 14 and 28 years to achieve their potential.
Contributes to County Durham Foundation’s Community Action programme.
Supports carbon emission reduction projects, sustainable energy projects, energy efficiency projects or general environmental enhancement projects within close proximity to the new wind farm at Sedgefield.
Welfare grants to families in need to help keep the family together and hardship grants for education and welfare are made to individuals who are, or who have been, in care.
Supports voluntary sector organisations, charities, schools, further education colleges and other agencies working directly with disadvantaged young people (aged up to 25) for non-statutory activity that will:
