Chelsea Sandwick

Chelsea is an eleven-year-old girl who has cerebral palsy. She lives in Hesleden with her parents and twin sister. Last year, both Chelsea and her twin sister had to undergo corrective surgery for spinal problems. After a demanding year the family needed a respite break and County Durham Foundation were able to help out with some of the costs.

Chelsea (pictured right with her mum, dad and sister) received a grant from the Hylton House Fund which enabled the whole family to have a week's break together at Pontins in Southport. Chelsea's mum got in touch to let us know how they got on:

'I would like to say a very big thank you. Southport was fantastic for Chelsea; very accessible and lots to do. We were very surprised to find a building at the end of the prom with old fashioned slot machines inside. Chelsea found one that you could win Kit-Kats from and we couldn't get her off it!'
