Young People and Education Bursary Fund

Supports young people who show initiative and need help to achieve their own potential, or to excel in a particular skill or ability for example in the fields of music, performing arts, education and sport.

Maximum Grant: £2,000 (avg. £500)

What we will fund

Contributions to course fees.
Costs associated with attending a course/training such as books, travel and kit.
Musical, sporting and educational equipment.
Education and training costs.

Are you eligible?

This fund makes grants to young people up to the age of 25, whose home is in County Durham or Darlington.

It will also support individuals of any age who are achieving against the odds.

In particular the donors wish to support young people e.g. ex offenders, young carers who show initiative and need help to achieve their own potential.

Young people who are undertaking volunteer work with Project Trust may receive a small donation (approx. £100).

You can only hold one grant per individual each financial year starting in April.

We will not consider applications for the following:

contributions to college/academy fees that exceed £4,000 per annum.
contributions to international expedititions unless you can confirm that you have already raised approximately 90% of the total cost.

You should have explored and exhausted all available sources of funding and provision for your proposed activity before you apply to us.

We cannot make retrospective awards so please ensure that you allow three months from the time of your application to the start date of your project.
