The fund is supported by Hylton House and Scope Endowment Funds. Hylton House was a residential home for 25 adults with Cerebral Palsy. The home was originally built and funded by Scope in County Durham. When the charity wound up in 2002 Hylton House was sold. The fund was created using proceeds from the sale of Hylton House.
You will need to provide a full breakdown of the costs. For specialist equipment and therapy, you must also provide confirmation from your occupational therapist/doctor/physiotherapist or other professional advisor that the equipment is suitable for your needs.
You must live in one of the following areas:
County Durham, Darlington, Gateshead, South Shields, Sunderland or Cleveland.
Individuals can hold one grant each financial year starting in April.
You or the family, if you are under 18, must be on income support or a low
income or have a degree of disability in the family, which creates a heavy
financial demand.
You should have asked Social Services, the Department of Works and Pensions or your doctor for help before you apply to us.

Step 3. Fill out the application form including a telephone number for your referee (and ask permission for us to contact them if necessary) and send it to:
